I’m considering buying a dish network non hdtv receiver to use with two of my television sets (also both non hdtv). Will this receiver be obsolete in two years or so when the switch is made to hdtv?

      You might want to check with your cable and dish provider.

      yes because it will not be able to recive hd signals talk to dish network they will replace the receiver

      From what I heard is that if you have cable or satellite you won’t have to worry when the time comes because the cable and satellite companies will automatically be transmitting in the new digital format, but still contact the satellite company to make sure.
