How can you get your Sony HDTV to download software updates?

I just bought a HX701. I turned on automatic updates. Left it in standby for about an hour. Went back to the bravia internet tv and it says I need to download the software update. My HDTV is connected to the internet through the Wi fi dongle. Does anyone know how to get the software updates on your tv? My apps won’t work without it.
